A Statement from the Committee

Great Baddow Cricket Club
A Statement from the Committee:

Following the recent Covid-19 developments around the world, announcements from the Government, and advice from the ECB, the GBCC Committee have had discussions to consider how the Club proceeds moving forward.

Following these discussions, GBCC have taken the unprecedented decision to offer ALL members (from All-Stars, to Senior Members, to non-playing Members) the opportunity to waive their Membership fees for the 2020 season. We have taken this decision on the basis that we cannot guarantee there will be any games played this season, as we await to see how the situation develops around the world, so it would simply be unfair to ask you to continue paying these fees.

However, as many of you will be aware, the Club does need income to survive. Membership fees are the main source of income for all of our costs, and as a direct result of Covid-19 our fundraising efforts will almost certainly be drastically reduced this season.

As a Committee, we would ask that all members prioritise their own families first and foremost. However, if you are in a position to (and if you would like to) contribute towards the GBCC family by leaving your membership fees running, then this will maximise the potential for the club to bounce back from this difficult time.

We will keep you updated as the situation develops. In the meantime, we at GBCC look forward to seeing you all when we can safely reconvene, blow off the cobwebs, and get back onto the cricket pitch.
